PS4 NPL QLD Round 10 – Carroll Breaks Drought In Heat Win

FNQ Heat shrugged off last week’s loss to Brisbane City by dismissing Sunshine Coast Fire 3-0 at Endeavour Park on Saturday night. Christopher O’Hare’s first-half double set the tone for the home side before striker Jamie Carroll popped up late to grab his first goal of the season. Carroll scored 15 goals last season but has been dealing with injury problems this campaign, his return to goalscoring form will be a great help as Heat push closer to the top four. Heat travel to SWQ Thunder next Saturday night while Fire will host Brisbane City on Sunday afternoon.   Key Moments 4’ – GOAL FOR HEAT – Shigeki Ono is brought down in the box and Christopher O’Hare converts via the post. 23’ – GOAL FOR HEAT – Jamie Carroll’s shot is saved but O’Hare places the rebound home from six yards out. 35’ – CHANCE FOR HEAT – O’Hare gets another shot on target but his hat-trick bid is denied by the keeper’s safe hands. 78’ – CHANCE FOR HEAT – Ari Isman pings from 25 yards but the rocket flies past the frame of the goal. 83’ – GOAL FOR HEAT – Carroll slots into the bottom corner for his first goal of the season.   Match Details PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2017 – Round 10 Saturday, May 13 Endeavour Park FNQ FC Heat 3 (Christopher O’HARE 4′ 23′, Jamie CARROLL 83′) Sunshine Coast FC 0   Article originally appeared on www.nplqld.com.au

PS4 NPL QLD Round 11 – City Cruise against Fire

Brisbane City have secured a solid 3-0 win over Sunshine Coast FC at Kawana on Sunday afternoon. Dominating the first half, it would be the visitors who struck first, with Carter Glockner finishing well from 12 yards out. The Fire would spurn a golden opportunity following Bon Scott’s failed clearance, and this would come back to haunt them, as Samuel Sibatuara slotted home under the legs of Kevin Downes to double the lead before half time. Simon Biel would score late on to seal the result for City, who move to within three points of leaders Gold Coast City and only trail second placed Brisbane Strikers on goal difference. Sunshine Coast, however, continue their barren run at the bottom of the table, still yet to win a game this season as they travel to Redlands United next week.   Key Moments 17’ – CHANCE FOR BRISBANE CITY – Han makes a shot from 12 yards out that stings the palms of Kevin Downes before he saves. 27’ – GOAL FOR BRISBANE CITY – Carter Glockner shoots low from 12 yards out underneath the oncoming Downes. 34’ – CHANCE FOR BRISBANE CITY – Glockner delivers an aerial cross to Han, who shoots over from 12 yards with a bicycle kick. 37’ – CHANCE FOR SUNSHINE COAST – Nathaniel Giabardo gets on the end of Bon Scott’s botched clearance but his shot from 30 yards is narrowly over. 43’ – GOAL FOR BRISBANE CITY – Samuel Sibatuara shoots low at goal from 12 yards out, before it goes through the legs of the keeper. 63’ – CHANCE FOR BRISBANE CITY – Han gets on the end of a low ball across the box but his tapped shot from 6 yards is saved by Downes’ leg. 85’ – GOAL FOR BRISBANE CITY – Satake delivers a ball to Simon Biel, whose shot from 12 yards goes in off the underside of Downes. 89’ – CHANCE FOR BRISBANE CITY – Simon Biel manages to capitalise on a poor Downes clearance but his shot from inside the area goes over.   Match Details Playstation 4 NPL Queensland Season 2017 – Round 11 Sunday, May 21 Sunshine Coast Stadium, Kawana Sunshine Coast Fire FC – 0 Brisbane City FC – 3 (Glockner 26’, Sibatuara 43’, Biel 85’) Referee – Zac KEENAN Assistant – Noah REYNOLDS Assistant – Michael BURLONE   Article originally appeared on www.nplqld.com.au
