Football NSW was excited to have recently celebrated the 1 year To Go until the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.
Football NSW’s NAIDOC Cup team participated in an exhibition match to open Unity Pitch. We also used the Unity Pitch to showcase our Walking Football Program and a number of the NSW participants.
Football NSW also partnered with Football Australia to deliver a 1 Year to Go Gala Day at Thomas Hassall Anglican College with which we have had a long standing relationship with. On the day we engaged with over 900 students from the primary school who were actively participating in small sided games facilitated by over 10 coaches, a large majority being female coaches.
The celebrations served as a great way to start driving excitement and engagement in the football community in the lead up to the Women’s World Cup in 2023.
