2026 Season Preview

The 2026 Formula 1 season introduces the most significant technical regulation changes in a decade. New power unit rules reduce the internal combustion engine capacity while increasing the electrical energy component, fundamentally changing how the cars generate and deploy power. Active aerodynamics, including a driver-adjustable front and rear wing, aim to reduce the impact of dirty air and promote closer racing.

The season opens with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on 14-16 March, giving Australia the honour of hosting the first race under the revolutionary new rules. The 24-race calendar runs through to the season finale in Abu Dhabi on 5-7 December, visiting 21 countries across five continents.

Key storylines include Lewis Hamilton's first full season at Ferrari, the debut of several exciting rookies, and the intense battle between established teams and potential new challengers under the reset regulations.
