Zac Lomax Linked with NRL Signing as PNG Chiefs Interest Emerges

10%
By Denny Marsh · Updated

Zac Lomax — early mail, treat it gently.

Zero Tackle is reporting that the former NSW Blues winger has flown to PNG, with a Chiefs signing described as moving closer to being finalised. That’s the extent of what’s in the public domain right now: no contract length reported, no figures attached.

What stacks up? Lomax is a quality outside back with representative experience, and any club chasing a proven edge threat has legitimate reason to be monitoring him. The Chiefs, building their NRL presence, would benefit from that kind of profile on the wing.

What gives pause? At a 10% probability read, this is very much unconfirmed and early-stage. Flying somewhere and signing somewhere are two different things, and nothing in the Zero Tackle piece locks in terms.

Stranger things have happened — if the Chiefs are genuinely in the mix for a winger of Lomax’s calibre, there’s a logic to it. But until there’s more than a reported flight and a “moving closer” line, keep this one in the early mail pile.
